About Orbit Captures
A community gallery for game photography, organised around high quality uploads, creator credit, collections, and easy sharing.
What It Is
Orbit Captures gives game screenshots a proper home: searchable galleries, individual image pages, creator profiles, public collections, and social-ready share pages.
What You Can Do
Upload captures, browse by game or detail, save favourites into collections, follow creators, earn achievements, and share branded previews outside the site.
How It Stays Organised
Images are grouped with categories, tags, scene details, optional Star Citizen details, and moderation tools so the gallery stays useful as it grows.

Everything you need before choosing files: supported formats, limits, batch uploads, 4K handling, and watermarks.
Files and Limits
You can upload JPG, PNG, and WEBP images. Single upload is best for one finished image; batch upload is best when several images share the same category or description.

4K Handling
4K images are accepted for everyone. Images above 4K are resized to a 4K long edge for the gallery so uploads stay sharp without storing oversized display files.
The upload page shows what will happen before you submit.
Watermarks
When uploading, choose whether to use a text watermark, avatar watermark, or no watermark. Availability can depend on your account and site settings.
Tip: Read the upload preview before submitting. It flags missing details, large files, and anything likely to need review.
Discovery
Browsing, Categories, and Collections
Use these tools to find images faster and group favourites into public or private sets.
Categories
Categories keep the gallery tidy and make browsing easier. Category cards can filter the gallery, and available category pages give each game or theme a more focused landing page.
Game artwork: Some game categories use cached box art and hero artwork from IGDB. IGDB is credited where that artwork is shown.
If a category is missing, send a request from the upload page.
Star Citizen Details
Star Citizen uploads can include image type, manufacturer, and ship details. Adding them helps other members filter and discover your images.

Collections
Collections let you group images, choose a cover, and set visibility. Public collections can appear on profiles and collection pages.
Social
Sharing, Short Links, and Share Cards
Use the public share tools when you want a cleaner link or a branded version of an image for social platforms.
Share Links
Image pages include a share option. Where short links are available, sharing uses the shorter Orbit Captures link instead of the full image URL.
Short links open the same public image or share page, just with a tidier address.
Branded Cards
Share cards add Orbit Captures branding, treatment labels, and social-safe framing around an image. They are useful for posts such as Member Spotlight, Shot of the Week, Best Scenic Capture, and Funny Shots.
Platform Copy
The social tools can prepare platform-aware copy and previews, but you should still check the wording before posting through your social publishing tool.
Identity
Profiles, Achievements, and Settings
Control how you appear on the site and where to check your own progress.
Profiles
Your profile brings together your uploads, collections, bio, social links, rank, reward badges, and achievement progress. You can choose what to show publicly.
Achievements
Achievements update as you upload, receive likes, comment, and take part in the gallery. Your profile shows a preview; the full page shows more detail.
User Settings
Use Settings to manage notifications, date and time display, and remembered login devices.

Points and Ranks
Points reward participation. Ranks show how much appreciation your approved uploads have received.

These tools keep the gallery clean without making everyday uploading feel heavy.
Upload Review
Some uploads may need review before they appear publicly. Trusted members can publish faster once their account reaches the site threshold.
Reports
If an image, comment, profile, or site detail looks wrong, use reports or tickets so it can be checked with the right context.
Credit and Sources
Creator credit stays attached to uploads. External game artwork is used only for category presentation and is cached so pages stay quick and third-party requests stay low.

Use tickets when something is broken, confusing, or worth improving.
What to send
Keep it short, but include enough detail to find the problem.
- Use a clear title.
- Mention the page, image, or profile involved.
- Explain what happened and what you expected.
- Add a screenshot if it helps show the problem.

Your ticket is saved so it can be reviewed. If the issue is unclear, you may be asked for more detail.
For urgent account or security problems, choose Urgent and include the affected page or profile.

Downloads and Browser Behaviour
Most downloads are straightforward, but your browser may decide how certain image types open or save.
Downloads
Download buttons ask the browser to save the image. If a file opens in a new tab instead, check your browser's file handling settings.
Save PromptMost images save through the normal browser download flow.
WebPIf WebP opens in a tab, set your browser to save or ask what to do with WebP files.
Image FileThe download is the stored gallery image for that upload.
